Driving clients cars

Accuro Homecare is proud to announce that our Direct Support Workers can drive clients modified vehicles.

Many people are restricted in accessing the community due to not being able to transfer in and out of normal vehicles or those vehicles do not have the correct mobility equipment or access for them.

heat stress

During times of hot weather, the aged and vulnerable may suffer from heat stress. As such it is important for our Direct Support Workers to be able to identify signs of heat stress in their clients.

Direct Support Worker, Joanne

Joanne was a store manager for a retail shop but always wanted to work with people in need. She chose to wait till her boys were older before taking the plunge. She completed a Certificate III in Individual Support in 2017 and joined Accuro shortly after.

Much fun was has by many at the recent Accuro Homecare Annual Staff Celebration. It gave the office staff a chance to catch up with those that they had not seen in about the last hour, but it was also a chance for everyone to relax and enjoy plenty of good food, a few drinks, a great band and reflect on the year that was.

David living at home longer

Four and a half years ago David was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. This type of MS is characterised by a constant worsening of symptoms from the onset of the disease. Not long after his diagnosis, his symptoms forced him to leave his job as a Revenue Office at Hunter New England Health.
