A COVID-19 hotline has been established in conjunction with the Council on the Ageing Australia, National Seniors Australia, the Older Persons Advocacy Network and Dementia Australia to provide seniors, their families and their carers with advice on making COVID-19 safe decisions about all aspects of their daily life.
Specially trained staff can provide up to date information about:
- Travel restrictions
- Residential aged care and visitation concerns
- Accessing new care services to help with essentials like shopping and attending appointments
- Well being checks for loved ones
- Social activities
If you have concerns about yourself or someone else, are confused about the current COVID-19 situation or would like to arrange a well-being check, you can FREECALL 1800 171 866.
The support line operates Monday to Friday, except public holidays, from 8.30am to 6pm.
Older Australians who do not speak English can call TIS National on 131 450, request an interpreter and ask to be put through to the Older Persons COVID-19 Support Line or quote the 1800 171 866 phone number to be connected.
