Hi, My name is Danny .
I would love to assist you in managing to navigate your way around the sometimes difficult domain of Home Care Packages.
We want you to get the appropriate support services that you need and I can make that happen.

As for me, I have extensive experience, working in the Aged Care industry since 1993 and exclusively in Home Care support services since 2009. I have been registered to practice nursing with the Nurse and Midwives board for 26 years as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse and have seen a lot of things and helped a lot of people in that time.
I have the key personal contacts we need to make your Home Care Package service successful. I can offer you many years of experience and knowledge, as well as expert advice regarding the policies, processes, forms and figures that you will come across while utilising your Home Care Package services. My role is that of a listener, confidant, support person, problem solver, organiser and an advisor to address any issues or questions you may have in your Home Care Package journey.
I will give you the information you need to make the decisions regarding your support services that give you the best opportunity to remain living at home and functioning as independently as possible.
I can discuss all the available options with you and establish what you can do, would like to do, want to continue to do and we can organise support workers to fill in any gaps that may appear.
Your ongoing independence and enablement are the number one goals of our service provision and we endeavour to ensure that this happens on the programs wherever possible.

The Home Care Package Process

If you have not yet started the process of obtaining your homecare package here is what you need to do.


1. Register for a My Aged Care Assessment.

   Once you have identified that in the very near future you may require some assistance the first step is to get registered, A loved one can do this for you. Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or click here to fill in a registration form.



 2. You will receive a visit from ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) to provide an assessment of your needs.

   A member of ACAT will visit your residence and ask you a few questions and submit an assessment to My Aged Care. My Aged Care will then review the assessment.



3. You then will receive a Home Care package “approval” letter.

   A number of weeks after the ACAT visit you should receive a letter stating that you have been approved to receive a Home Care Package. At this stage you have no access to the package, in other words you cannot access services yet. Basically this letter is just to advise you there is a package coming for you and you are on the national waitlist.



4. You will then receive a letter stating that you have been “assigned” a package.

   Once you have received this letter you now have a package which allows you to access services. It is important to know that you only have 56 days to start receiving services, best to act straight away! You may also not receive the level package you asked for but received one at a lower level. It is still important to take this package as if you do not you will have to go through this process again and will be placed back to the bottom of the waitlist.
